--------------------------------------------------

Dear Families:

I wanted to take a minute to send out an update from the special education office here in Granville.

We continue to stay in close contact with the state education department on the very latest updates and guidance in special education services as they relate to the Dept of Health's plan and the schools reopening plan. As you know every parent has the right to choose remote services for their child.

Special Education services are still being offered remotely to your child, "to the extent possible" in the remote setting.
Resource Room Services, Direct Consultant Services, Special Class Services and all
Related Services are being provided remotely.

The schedule has been provided for your child. Please be sure your student is logging on for all of their services.  If you have any questions about your child's special education services please give me a call at 518-642-1051 ext 1313.

Thank you,

Ann Marie Clark

Director of Special Education

Center for Autism
The Granville Central School District has been chosen to participate in the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities School Consultation Project for the 19-20 school year. An application had been submitted and the district was chosen to be a participant. The training is at no cost to the district. It is grant-funded for NY State school districts.  It uses evidence-based practices for students with autism. It develops building and district autism resource teams and assists schools with using Positive Behavior Intervention Services.  The behavioral Interventions implemented also work well with students who are not on the Autism Spectrum but are experiencing some behavioral difficulties.  There are 9 staff members on the core team and 5 staff on the child-specific teams. Team members range from Teachers, Special Ed and General Ed, Social Workers, School Psychologists, Administrators and Teaching Assistants. We are looking forward to this opportunity.
